"Circuit Board" hiss

I've recently been fitted with resound dot 20's. As the audiologist began to program the hearing aid, one of the aids began to hiss through the ear piece. The tech said that it is "circut board" noice. Is that something that should be happening? Is there something wrong with the HA?

That depends. Were you fit with 2 aids or only 1? Did the noise occur in both ears or just one? What is your hearing loss?

I had 2 aids. there was no noise in my left ear which has the worse loss of the two. I have a high frequency loss in both of my ears.
