Used Hearing Aids

I've tried digital insert-in-the-ear hearing aids and have not been happy with them. A friend has given me his set of Siemens behind-the-ear aids.

How and where do I get them programmed to fit my needs? Is this possible?

Thanks.

It all starts with a hearing test. The data from that is what is used to program for your hearing loss. Suggest you call around to dispensers in your area that sell Siemens and ask about a package deal.

I would suppose that a BTE hearing aid could be reprogrammed for a different persons use. When you get your hearing tested, take the gift hearing aid with you and ask the hearing professional if the specific hearing aid that you have is appropriate for your hearing loss.

Do not simply throw away the used hearing aids; obviously there is a need for used hearing aids. There are many worthy service groups and non-profit organizations that collect used hearing aids and distribute them to persons in need with hearing loss. By donating used hearing aids you could make a dramatic contribution to someone’s life.
