Hearing aids suffer a valuable yet basic function: to help the hearing impaired to hear or hear well. These little devices occur in many varieties and types, depending on the purpose, make, and the specifics of the hearing dysfunction and history of those who require them. They are a priceless need that support a bridge between the inner mind and the sounds of the outside world.
How do hearing aids act? they are small and fit either in the ear canal or around the back of the ear shell. Because of their miniscule size, hearing aids run on a tiny battery and enlarge sounds entering the ear via a tiny speaker that channels vibrations into the inner-ear. Considering this, hearing aids are both physical and technological.

Hearing aids contains three parts-- a microphone, an amplifier and a speaker. Sounds come into the microphone which then transform into electrical signals. This would then go to the amplifier. The amplifier would increase the power of these signals and then send it to the ear through a speaker.
Hearing aids that are next to the ear consist of a hard plastic case. They are attached to a plastic earmold which would fit inside the outer ear. The electronic parts are hidden behind the ear. The sound travels from the earmold to the ear. Behind the ear aids are used by many age groups from a mild to profound hearing losses.

The best "style" of hearing aid for you depends on the type of hearing loss you have as well as your comfort.
Behind The Air (BTE):Fits over the ear & rests behind it. Typically the least expensive style.
In The Ear (ITE): The most common type, this sits in the ear.
In The Ear Canal (ITC):This kind fits slightly lower into the ear & is not very noticeable.
Completely in The Ear Canal (CIC): Fits down into the ear canal. This style requires the most fitting & is the least visible to others
