Hearing Impairment Units in Schools

I attended a school out of the United States in which they had a hearing impairment unit luckily for me. Because of this unit, I learned to speak along with signing.

I had an induction loop and my teachers wore a microphone and transmitter for it so I dealt without an interpreter. I am just curious as to if the schools here in the U.S. do something to the same effect?

Unfortunately, not many schools here provide that luxury. If they are in schools, they will only be provided in private schools on account they have a larger budget than public schools so they can provide a service like that. However, I believe they should be put in all schools. There should be an act on that.

I think the most help that the public schools do for the deaf is put them in ASL and have interpreters present for them in their classes and other events. I think this is wrong and something more should be done.
