My father is 69. I just took him to an audi, and had a basic screen. Here is his audiogram.

250 R40 L70
500 R40 L80
750 R45 L85
1K R50 L80
1.5K R50 L70
2K R50 L85
3K R55 L80
4K R60 L95
6K R65 L100
8K R80 L(NR)

The audiologist suggested Oticon, Epoq which she quoted at $999 for each.

Is this reasonable? Is it possible that he get a hearing aid that is cheaper?

Thanks!

I do not know very much compared to some of the other people on this forum. It is just a matter of time before some of them will be along to answer.

last june i trialed an Oticon Epoq (with letter suffix - like a model number - that I cant remember) and was quoted quite a bit more than $999. substantially more... It may have to do with the model of the hearing aid - if there is anything like a letter suffix or a model number or something after Epoq, please post it, it may be very helpful.

The people on this forum know a lot and are willing to help... just be patient.
