dot problems

Hi,
I am 31 and have a hearing loss in the low frequencies for my left ear. I was recommended the dot 10 by my audi and it's my first day wearing it. As soon as I put it in I heard a constant staticy hissing sound coming from the device. My audi tested it but said she didn't hear the "hiss" and that it was prob just background noise that I was not use to hearing (like the computer or air conditioning or something). I've worn it all day, experimenting in all different situations, and the hissing sound doesn't go away. Has anyone else dealt with this problem before?

My geuss is that it's most likely analog or digital circuit noise.

In order to help minimise this you need the expansion to be turned on. It should be activated already.

You probably have a region of your audiogram where your hearing is picking up the aid's internal working sound. If so, the frequency band where you are especially sensitive needs to have the gain reduced.

I think that the dot 10 needs a pretty solid earmold to work well with low frequency losses.
