Distortion that Audi can't fix

For about a month now I have been using Starkey S11 aids. I get a distortion/vibration with high frequencies and I've been to the AUDI twice but so far he has not been able to fix them and seems perplexed. I hear the distortion with pitches in the Saxaphone/Clarinet mid to upper ranges and it occurs when the tones are held for more than a second. I do not hear it in speech. Is this a common problem? What could be suggested to stop it?

Distortion and/or feedback squeals are to be expected if you hear sustained tones with any aid with which an active anti-feedback is turned on.
It is also possible however less likely that your haering system is generating distortion particularly if you have a steep slope loss or over 60db loss at some frequencies. Also, middle ear problems and possibly degenerated hair cells will internally generate distortion. Check your tympanogram to see if you have any abnormality.
