Opinions on Custom molds?

Is there a particular mold material that is preferred? I'm asking specifically of those who have worn custum ear molds or those wearing. I've always worn domes and I'm thinking it's time to try out this option.

Acrylic molds are easy to fine-tune with some fine sandpaper if you want to remove a high spot thats painful.
I don't have any experience with the soft silicone so I can't really comment on them. It sounds as if they might be more comfortable, that is, if they fit like they should.

I've worn silicone and acrylic molds, and personally would choose the acrylic. I find that my ear canals more stay dry with the acrylic molds than with the silicone molds.

I've worn both of these as well. I'd say both are fine though the soft molds are better for me because they are more flexible in my ear. I don't like the feeling of my jaw clicking because of the mold in my ear.

I've used both the soft silicone ear molds with BTE aids and the hard clear acrylic Power Molds with RITE aids. My preference is the acrylic molds. I think they're more comfortable and I notice them less. I also think they are also less visible.
