Painful BTE

I'm trying out my first BTE aid which is a Widex 440 after over 30 years of wearing an ITE aid. It's only been three days but I'm finding that the part of the aid that sits on the back of (or behind) my ear is very painful. Is this a normal reaction in which my ear will eventually get used to it and will stop hurting? Or is there something wrong with the tube length and thats causing the aid not to sit correctly behind my ear? There's no way I could handle this sort of thing on an ongoing basis so either I need my ear to toughen up or the aid needs to be moved by the audiologist.

The tube needs to be longer so the aid sits lightly on the back of ear. If your tube is too short then it creates pressure witch causes the ear to hurt. Try getting a longer tube. There is also a slight chance that you have an allergy and your ear is reacting to the aid.
